Résumé
The Native Clan Organization's Forensic Behavioral Management Clinic (FBMC) is located in Winnipeg, Manitoba and provides assessment and treatment services for Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal individuals who have engaged in sexual offending behaviour. In an effort to profile and better understand the composition and characteristics of offenders who completed treatment at FBMC, an offender database was established. The database includes 235 variables and encompasses a range of areas including general offender characteristics, Aboriginal offender specific characteristics, developmental history, criminal history, pattern of offending behaviour and participation in and response to treatment. The objective of identifying the characteristics of the men who participated in treatment at FBMC was to assist in guiding the programs evolution to better meet the needs of the men assessed and provided care for, as well as to access information that can contribute to the knowledge base in this field.
