To maximize the use of the data collected by police, the Halton Regional Police Service has acquired an automated system to mine police data. This new business intelligence tool will mine data from the Intergraph computer-aided dispatch (CAD) system and the Niche records management system. The police service will analyze the data gathered from its records, produce performance reports and identify opportunities for improved service delivery and greater efficiency. The technology will also allow senior staff to monitor organization activity. This tool is expected to be in place by the end of 2013. The cost of the initiative is currently estimated at $1.5 million. |
