Summary
The purpose of this descriptive study was to determine the characteristics of, including the financial difficulties experienced by the searching the trauma experienced by the abducted child. This study found that over half the couples were separated or divorced when was abducted. Prior to the abduction, over half the child victims had a relationship with the abductor than did the left-behind parent, who rated as poor.
