Summary

"This report deals with the use of europium chelates for the visualization of fingerprints on porous and non-porous surfaces. The chelate detects the lipid component of the fingerprint by transferring into the methanol that dissolves in the lipid. While the approach is feasible, to date comparisons of the current formulation of TECTOPO have shown that the sensitivity is inferior to physical developer. Consequently, this technique is not recommended for casework."
