| Purpose : |
CIAS will target visible minority and immigrant youth in Calgary at risk of involving themselves in street gangs and criminal activity. They will take a holistic approach to crime prevention and will address the risk factors that place visible and immigrant youth at risk of joining street gangs and becoming perpetrators of violence. Community engagement of immigrant youth and their families will be encouraged and social development services and workshops will be offered to create a network of support for troubled, at-risk youth.
