Purpose : |
This project is the implementation plan based on the Needs Assessment Report completed by Social Planning Research Council (SPRC) in 2005. The initial phase of this project called for the development of a Community Plan for Street-Involved Youth. With the report completed, this project outlines the process for implementing activities based on extensive research, community planning exercises, and consultations that resulted in 27 recommendations. The implementation plan represents a detailed blueprint for each recommendation including a unique set of steps and timeframes required to achieve their anticipated objectives and outcomes over the next three years. The project will address issues of: drug addiction and other criminal activities (theft, assault, vandalism), victimization, lack of education and employment skills, negative family support and peer culture, social isolation, as well as numerous health-related issues (i.e. suicide, disease).
