Purpose : The project will address the priority issue of violence among youth aged 12 to 17; reach up to 160 boys and their parents/care-givers; and will be implemented in partnership with three renowned treatment centres: the Centre de psychiatrie légale at the Institut Philippe-Pinel de Montréal, the Centre d’Interventions en Agression Sexuelle pour la Famille, and Parents Unis de Repentigny. At the end of the five-year period, it is anticipated that the measurable results would include: increased capacity to change inappropriate sexual attitudes; reduced levels of conflict within the family; reduced propensity for risky behaviour; and an improved ability to have relationships outside the family. Ultimately, it is expected that the project will result in reduced recidivism rates among young sexual offenders.
