Purpose : |
Funding will support the West Coast Domestic Workers Association to provide public awareness and education about the crime of labour trafficking with a focus on migrant workers and other vulnerable workers and their networks of social supports and other service providers. The aim of the project is to provide training and workshops in 10 communities throughout British Columbia, with a focus on communities with little legal access. In planning and developing the awareness raising sessions with community partners, the project will also serve to develop and strengthen partnerships between stakeholders who provide strategies to migrant workers, vulnerable workers and other community target groups where labour trafficking commonly occurs, including partnerships with government agencies and law enforcement.
