| Purpose : |
This project aims to reduce aggressive behaviours and change the attitudes of young, impressionable children in Canada's oldest and largest
indigenous Black community. The project will contribute to this goal by mobilizing children, parents and other caregivers, Nelson Whynder School, Medical Health Centre, North Preston Community Centre, St. Thomas United Baptist Church and members of the RCMP in an effort to provide a
more solid foundation for the children of North Preston. This will be achieved through the development and introduction of culturally relevant
curriculum for the children which will focus on their behaviour and understanding. In addition, family-related activities which will serve to strengthen family bonds and relationships will take place. Funding from the organizations noted above will complement CMP funding.
