| Purpose : |
The BOB's place project will:
- Hire a trained, qualified employee who will provide stable, ongoing support and mentorship to the youth of Devon.
- Provide a recreational outlet for teens to access on a regular basis.
- Have qualified, trained personnel from various social agencies attend and provide information and education to teens on relevant teen issues.
- Foster healthy relationships between youth and the youth mentor in an effort to provide a positive role model.
The goal of BOB's Place is to provide the youth in Devon with a safe place to meet and engage in a pro-social, positive manner with peers and trained, caring adults. The project will be supervised by qualified staff and will facilitate positive group interaction. Information and resources on issues related to high risk activities will also be readily available. The mentor will act as the primary contact and connect youth to resources (including people, programs and
information) that will address individual needs. |
