The North End Schools Safer Corridors Project Phase 2 has been working to build positive communication among residents, sex trade workers, agencies and local schools in an effort to respond to concerns over children's safety.
Through the Safe Streets Initiative, two outreach workers will continue to foster trusting relationships with sex trade workers who work on designated "safe corridors" during peak hours when children and families are on their way to and from school.
The Breakfast Club will provide a safe, healthy alternative for sex trade workers who would otherwise participate in street sex trade activities during the peak hours when children walk to school in the morning. The Breakfast club also serves as an opportunity for outreach workers to connect with sex trade workers, offer referrals, raise awareness about health and safety issues and provide support for reporting incidents of victimisation.
