Purpose : This project responds to the issue of a lack of employment for offenders and ex-offenders in the Prince George, British Columbia community. This feasibility study will develop options for developing a holistic approach to employment needs and will coordinate and strengthen the links between community-based employment services and correction services to work experience programs, casual labour pools and other necessary life skill providers. Finding a job is one of the most important challenges ex-offenders face. Without a job, and the accompanying pro-social support network to help meet the immediate needs of food, housing, healthcare and transportation, many offenders are at an increased risk of reoffending.
