Purpose : |
As the lead member of the Berens River Resource Team, the Chief Jacob Berens Mino-Ayaawin Health Centre intends to focus crime prevention efforts on the relationship between addictions and crime. Many of those who receive service from the Health Centre are either perpetrators and/or victims of addictions-related crime. This project will develop and implement a Community-Based Justice Program that will focus on empowering women and youth within their familial and school contexts and reduce the amount of crime associated with addictions and family violence. Youth and women will be educated about their rights to personal security and community safety. |
