The Youth Outreach Project in West Central Winnipeg will conduct intensive interventions with 15 youth per year and will deliver street outreach to youth at high risk of becoming involved in gangs and gang activities. In addition, the West Central Women's Resource Centre will conduct a targeted intervention entitled RESPECT with youth and their parents/guardians. The project will work to mitigate risk factors such as substance abuse, anti-social and delinquent behaviour, poor parental involvement, negative peer influences and low educational/employment attainment.
