Purpose : |
Project Venture is a program that is effective in fostering self control, a community service ethic, and improved decision-making, social interaction and problem-solving skills amongst Aboriginal youth at risk. The program’s strong evidence base is complemented by an equally strong cultural foundation. Aboriginal values of family, learning from the natural world, spiritual awareness and service to others, as well as the engagement of parents and elders generate community support for, and positive expectations of, youth. Program Venture components include school-based interventions, community/family-based interventions and outdoor experiential-based interventions. |
