Grants and Contributions Program to National Voluntary Organizations

Public Safety Canada offers grants and contributions to national voluntary organizations (NVOs) that work in the area of criminal justice and whose objectives and activities support and promote the public safety mandate and priorities of the Department.

The Grants and Contributions Program to National Voluntary Organizations (GCP NVO) provides funding to eligible recipients who are active in the area of corrections, conditional release and/or community reintegration.

Contribution stream – Currently closed:

The call for applications for the 2022-23 to 2025-26 funding cycle for the GCP NVO is now closed. The deadline to submit an application was March 18, 2022.

The contributions provide funding for NVOs to create or expand application support services for individuals with criminal records looking to apply for a record suspension (pardon).

Grant stream – Currently closed:

The call for applications for the April 1, 2020 to March 31, 2025 funding cycle is now closed. The deadline to submit an application was September 27, 2019.

The grants provide funding for NVOs to maintain a national structure and cover core operating expenses, including salaries and benefits, rent, translation, telephone, postage, and equipment/material for staff and board members.

Please read the Application Guide which provides detailed information to assist you with the application process. The following will be required of all applicants in order for the Department to consider an application:

Completed applications must be submitted electronically to gpnvo-psobn@ps-sp.gc.ca. The maximum file size limit for email attachments is 10Mb. Funding decisions are made based on a departmental review and approval process. Applicants will be notified of the status of their respective applications upon completion of this process.
