Researchers from the School of Criminology and Criminal Justice at the University of the Fraser Valley examined this question by studying the minute-by-minute activities of 171 general duty constables of the Surrey Detachment of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) during 441 full shift ride-alongs.
