Résumé
This research examines: the number of deaths that have occurred in motor vehicle pursuits over the last 12 years in Australia; the characteristics of those persons who died in a police pursuit; the characteristics of those pursuits that resulted in a fatality; and the number of police pursuits per year in Australia and the rate of death during these pursuits. The primary source of data for this research was the Australian Institute of Criminology (AIC)'s National Deaths in Custody Program (NDICP).
