2017 to 2018 Service Standards for Transfer Payment Programs
A service standard is a public commitment to a measurable level of performance that clients can expect under normal circumstances. Public Safety Canada (PS) has established services standards for all of its transfer payment programs.*
PS is committed to adhering to the following transfer payment service standards:
- Acknowledging the receipt of a funding request within 15 business days with the target set at 92% for achieving this standard
- For applications received April 1, 2019 and after - Communicating a funding decision within 30 weeks of receiving a complete application with the target set at 95% for achieving this standard
- For applications received prior to April 1, 2019 - Communicating a funding decision within 52 weeks of receiving a complete application with the target set at 95% for achieving this standard
- Issuing a payment following receipt of all required documentation within 30 business days with the target set at 80% for achieving this standard

Overall Transfer Payments' Service Standard Results
Public Safety Canada (PS) is committed to reporting on service standards for its transfer payment programs on an annual basis. Results from this reporting period are as follows:
For the period of April 1, 2017 to March 31, 2018
Acknowledging the receipt of a funding request:
- 15 Business days
- Results: 84% of all proposals were acknowledged within 15 business days
Communicating a funding decision after receiving a completed application is submitted:
- 52 Weeks
- Results: 100% of all funding decisions were communicated within 52 weeks
Issuing a payment following receipt of all required documentation:
- 30 Business days
- Results: 93% of all payment requests were sent within 30 business days
