Firearms Act

Description

Bill C-21, An Act to amend certain Acts and to make certain consequential amendments (firearms), which received Royal Assent on December 15, 2023, included provisions to centralize the issuance of Authorizations To Carry (ATC) for protection of life.

This proposal would amend the Authorizations to Carry Restricted Firearms and Certain Handguns Regulations to reflect the Commissioner of Firearms new authorities to issue, revoke, renew, and attach conditions to protection of life ATCs for private citizens for restricted firearms or handguns.
